El Cajon, also known as "The Big Box," resides in the heart of San Diego Country, and continues to attract visitors due to its wonderful weather and rich history. A day can be easily be filled visiting it's various attractions and landmarks, but here are just a few worthy sights to check out.

Taylor Guitars

Taylor Guitars is one of El Cajon's most well known landmarks. The company's main headquarters lies on 1980 Gillespie Way, and the building, as well as its interior, is a marvel to behold. The guitar maker has been in business for over 30 years, and boasts clients such as Taylor Swift and Jewel. The company manufactures all its guitars in its 145,000 square foot facility in El Cajon. Taylor Guitars offers tours of its sprawling facility at no charge, and with no need to schedule in advance. A great way to spend an afternoon, the tour also showcases the Visitor Center, with allows patrons to test out guitars and other musical equipment at no charge.

The Water Conservation Garden

The beautiful weather of El Cajon pairs well with The Water Conservation Garden located on Cuyamaca College Drive. Admission is free, and the grounds boast nearly 5 acres of gorgeous plants and landscape exhibits. Visitors who stay at a hotel near downtown El Cajon can spend the entire day roaming around, while learning about environmental protection and water conservation. The Garden also is a great sight for kids, with its innovative sculptures, ponds, and hidden paths.

The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra

For those who want to experience smooth sounds and maybe even bust a move, the Moonlight Serenade Orchestra will please. Every Thursday at 7PM, musicians and guest file into The El Cajon Elks Lodge, and are taken back to the 1930s, thanks to the smooth sounds of The Moonlight Serenade Orchestra. A small dance floor serves the patrons who like to move to the music.
